With its imponent presence, Cerro Castillo is one of the emblematic summits of the locality of Torres del Paine. This excursion is known for having a variety of unique scenarios of Chilean Patagonia where you can see Porteño Lake and Lake Toro, the Paine Massif, the Baguales Mountain Chain, the Chinas River, Mt. Tenerife, and Grey Glacier at a distance.

We will begin this journey opening our way through Ñirre forests (low deciduous beech) to then, begin our ascension towards the summit. In the middle of the hike, we will enter an aged Lenga forest (high deciduous beech), which becomes a perfect haven before attacking the summit through an exposed rocky slope that will take us to the summit.

The trail is surrounded by great walls of sedimentary rock formations that create the high plateau from where you can contemplate a 360º view of the beautiful nature of Chilean Patagonia. *It’s important to highlight that in this excursion there is no marked trail.
