Exploring Torres del Paine National Park is one of the most memorable experiences of a trip to Patagonia. Its majestic landscapes, scenic trails, and the ever-present beauty of nature invite you to explore this region at a leisurely pace, connecting with your surroundings.
At Patagonia Camp, we understand that every traveler experiences adventure at their own pace. That’s why we’ve added new half-day excursions, designed for those who want to discover some of the region’s most iconic landscapes without spending a full day away from the hotel.

These excursions have a special feature: they allow you to return to Patagonia Camp for lunch, combining exploration of Torres del Paine National Park with the hotel’s comfort and fine cuisine.

A flexible way to explore Torres del Paine

Half-day excursions are an ideal option for those looking for a more flexible experience during their stay. With difficulty levels ranging from low to medium-low, they allow you to enjoy scenic trails, lookouts, and Patagonian landscapes without intense physical demands.

The main benefits include:

  • Greater flexibility to plan your day, combining excursions with relaxation time at the hotel.
  • Return to Patagonia Camp for lunch, enjoying the restaurant’s cuisine after the activity.
  • Accessible trails, ideal for different fitness levels.
  • More time to enjoy the hotel, its self-guided trails, or the comfort of the yurt after the excursion.

These experiences allow you to discover diverse landscapes of Patagonia, from rivers and viewpoints in Torres del Paine National Park to historic sites.

Five half-day excursions to discover Patagonia

Miscellaneous

The Miscellaneous excursion runs along the banks of the Paine River and Toro Lake, starting at the historic Weber Bridge. The trail winds through Patagonian plains and ñirre forests, offering natural lookouts where the landscape opens up in all its grandeur.

Horns Lookout

The Horns Lookout excursion combines two of Torres del Paine’s most breathtaking landscapes. First, we visit the mighty Salto Grande waterfall, and then we hike to the lookout point, which offers a spectacular view of the iconic Horns of Paine.

Grey Beach

The Grey Beach excursion allows you to explore one of the park’s most iconic landscapes. Following a trail surrounded by forest and offering views of Grey Lake, we reach the beach, where you can see icebergs that have broken off from the glacier floating on the water.

Pingo Valley

The Pingo Valley excursion invites you to explore one of the quietest and least-visited areas of Torres del Paine National Park. The trail winds through scrubland and Magellanic forests along the banks of the Pingo River, revealing a serene landscape teeming with life.

Milodon Cave

The Milodon Cave excursion allows you to explore one of Patagonia’s most important historical sites. This enormous cavern is part of a natural monument near Puerto Natales, where remains of the milodon—a prehistoric mammal that inhabited the region thousands of years ago—have been found.

Half-day excursions offer a well-rounded way to discover Patagonia: explore unique landscapes in the morning and return to the hotel to enjoy lunch, some rest, and the tranquility of the natural surroundings.

Summer in Chilean Patagonia offers a unique experience: long days, extended daylight hours, and more time to enjoy nature. During December, natural light lasts until around 10:00 p.m., creating a sense of calm and spaciousness that transforms the way you travel and experience each day.

Experiencing the longest day of the year in Patagonia is not only a natural phenomenon, but also an invitation to explore, relax, and connect with the environment without any rush.

Long days bring multiple benefits for those visiting Patagonia at this time of year: more time for excursions and outdoor activities, better light conditions for observing landscapes and wildlife, and longer sunsets ideal for contemplation and photography. In addition, greater exposure to natural light brings a feeling of well-being and energy that accompanies the entire experience.

familiar-04-scaled

Why are the days so long in Patagonia?

This phenomenon occurs due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis. At the summer solstice, around December 21, the southern hemisphere receives more hours of sunlight.
At southern latitudes such as Patagonia, this effect is intensified, resulting in early sunrises, late sunsets, and bright skies even after sunset.

Experiencing summer at Patagonia Camp

At Patagonia Camp, summer is lived in harmony with natural cycles.
Light fills every moment of the day: from breakfast overlooking the lake and excursions in Torres del Paine National Park to afternoons that slowly stretch out before the Patagonian landscape.

Here, long days mean more time to enjoy, connect with nature, and experience Patagonia with calm and awareness.

A summer that stays with you

Visiting Patagonia in summer means discovering that time can feel different.
That the light stays around longer… and so do the experiences.

Plan your stay with us here and enjoy this unforgettable experience.

Patagonia Camp Cup 2026 returns on May 2, 2026, for its ninth edition, inviting runners of all levels to enjoy a trail running experience immersed in the purest nature of southern Chile. With distances of 5 km, 15 km, 21 km, and 42 km, we are looking for more people to join the challenge amid centuries-old forests, lakes, and majestic mountains.

The trails wind through forests of lenga and coigüe trees, cross streams, climb and descend slopes of varying degrees of difficulty, and offer panoramic views stretching from the valley to the mountains. In autumn, the landscape undergoes a transformation: golden leaves, light filtering through the trees, and the approach of winter add drama to the surroundings.

In the heart of the Patagonia Camp bar, a little magic happens every day: local ingredients, creativity, and hospitality come together to bring to life signature cocktails that surprise even the most curious travelers.

Here, each cocktail is a tribute to the region, its identity, and the essence of the end of the world.

Flavors that tell stories

Patagonia Camp’s cocktail bar draws inspiration from products that grow in this land: calafate berries, mint, rhubarb, macerated fruits, local herbs, and seasonal fruits that bring freshness and character.

In some cases, regional spirits made in Patagonia are also incorporated, enriching the experience with unique notes and a strong sense of origin.

The result is original, balanced, and colorful preparations that evoke the wind, glaciers, evergreen forest, and energy of Torres del Paine National Park.

Behind each drink is a bartender who knows the territory, chats with guests, plays with aromas and textures, and transforms each preparation into a complete sensory experience.

The “Cocktail of the Week”: For those who are always looking for something new, every seven days the bar presents its “Cocktail of the Week,” an exclusive offering that changes according to the team’s inspiration, the ingredients available, and the season.

Mocktails: enjoy alcohol-free drinks with the same personality

Patagonia Camp’s cocktail bar also celebrates those who prefer non-alcoholic options.
Our selection of mocktails uses homemade infusions, natural juices, fresh fruits, and combinations full of balance, aroma, and style.

A refreshing alternative after a day of excursions, made with the same dedication as a classic cocktail.

A bar with Patagonian soul

More than just a place to have a drink, the Patagonia Camp bar is a meeting place:

An experience that goes beyond flavor

The Patagonia Camp cocktail bar invites you to discover Patagonia from a different perspective: through its ingredients, its people, and its creative spirit. Each cocktail tells a little story…
and each story is a memory that stays with travelers long after they have left this place.

Deep in Patagonia grows a fruit that awakens the senses and holds ancient legends: the calafate. At Patagonia Camp, we celebrate it in both flavors and traditions, with experiences that connect you to this native gem.

Origin and legend: Calafate (Berberis microphylla) is a thorny shrub endemic to Chilean and Argentine Patagonia, whose fruits ripen in summer among forests of lenga, coigüe, and steppe. The Tehuelche legend tells that Calafate, daughter of a tribal chief, fell in love with a young Selk’nam man, but their love was forbidden. According to the story, as punishment, the young woman was transformed into a shrub, and whoever tastes its berries becomes bound to the spirit of Patagonia. Hence the saying: “Those who taste calafate always come back.”

Calafate 4

Health benefits

Calafate is known for its high antioxidant content, especially anthocyanins and polyphenols, which help combat oxidative stress and inflammation. Studies have also been conducted suggesting that it may play a role in preventing insulin resistance and other metabolic disorders. It also provides vitamin C, which strengthens the immune system and contributes to overall well-being.

Calafate at Patagonia Camp: calafate is present in every detail to make your stay a celebration: As a welcome cocktail, our “Calafate Sour” blends the sweetness and acidity of the fruit with native ingredients, creating a unique flavor to kick off your experience. In the amenities: we have a calafate lip balm, made by local entrepreneurs, crafted to nourish your lips with a touch of Patagonia.

Calafate-Sour

Flavor and culinary uses

The fruit offers a vibrant combination of sweet and sour, accompanied by aromas reminiscent of mountains, forests, and fresh air. It is eaten fresh, made into jams, sauces, or artisanal liqueurs, and used in cocktails to add color, aroma, and local character. In addition, its intense flavor makes it ideal for creative preparations that surprise the palate, all under the immensity of Patagonia.

The charm of the calafate awaits you

The calafate is not just a fruit, it is a link: to nature, to ancient stories, to authentic flavors. At Patagonia Camp, we invite you to try it, enjoy it, and let its charm take you back to Patagonia, always.

Imagine arriving after a day of adventure in Torres del Paine. The fresh air still vibrates in your lungs as you walk through the lounge of the Patagonia Camp restaurant. The first thing that greets you is not only the warmth of the place, but the unmistakable aroma of a cuisine that tastes of the territory. Each table, the view of the forest and the lake, are part of a welcoming that connects you with Patagonia in every way.

At Patagonia Camp, each dish is a window to the environment that inspires it. Our chef, Brian Espinoza, expresses it clearly: “Conscious cuisine that honors the territory and wild nature, where traditions reflect the hands that work the land and the southern sea”.

Ingredients that tell stories

We celebrate the authentic flavors of the region with products that transmit identity:

Patagonian lamb, reinterpreted from a contemporary point of view, always faithful to its origin.

Seafood and Patagonian king crab, which provide that deep taste of the sea, reflecting the encounter with the Southern Pacific.

Herbs and roots from the forest and steppe, which bring freshness and an earthy aroma that connects each dish with the natural environment.

Artisan dairy products, present in creations that combine tradition and creativity in soups, breads and more.

Each ingredient is part of the Patagonian landscape, narrated in every bite.

Pastry with meaning: Flavors are also reinvented in dessert format thanks to the artisanal talent of Javiera Romero, our Pastry Chef. Her creations are a celebration of texture, aroma and memory. From delicate mousses to small sweet jewels, her work reflects the spirit of the landscape and complements the experience with refinement and tenderness.

Grill & Wine: a time to share (every Wednesday and Sunday)

Twice a week, we light the fire and the magic comes to life: the Grill & Wine arrives. It is an outdoor experience that brings together:

  • Regional cuts of meat, seafood and grilled-vegetables,
  • Artisanal pizzas,
  • A buffet with fresh and cozy alternatives,

In harmony with the best selection of Matetic Vineyard wines.
It is the perfect moment to enjoy the crackling of the fire, savor the local and celebrate in good company, all under the immensity of Patagonia.

An experience for all the senses

At Patagonia Camp, eating is not just feeding: it is an act of connection. With each dish we honor the territory, from sea and steppe to forest and snow, and celebrate the local, conscious labor that seasons each flavor.

If you have any questions, dietary restrictions or want to celebrate a special date such as an anniversary or birthday during your stay, our team will be happy to help you put together a memorable experience.

When the snow begins to melt and the first green shoots appear on the steppe, spring transforms Patagonia into a silent and renewing spectacle. In October, Patagonia Camp reopens its doors to welcome travelers seeking a more intimate and profound experience in Torres del Paine.

Fewer visitors, more connection. Spring is synonymous with tranquility. Being out of high season, trails, viewpoints and parks are less crowded. This allows you to enjoy the landscapes in calm, stop to observe wildlife without interruption and feel the territory unfold just for you.

LA-PUNTILLA-06

The awakening of nature

The days start getting longer, the weather is milder and the wildlife is especially active. It is the season for sightings of migratory birds, guanaco calves and -with some luck- encounters with pumas. The flora also comes alive: small flowers and bushes dye the landscape with soft, fresh colors.

Light, wind and changing skies. Spring skies are a spectacle in themselves. The clouds dance with the wind, the light is constantly changing and the sunset tinges the mountains in shades of pink and gold. A perfect invitation to disconnect, look at the sky from the terrace of your yurt and let yourself be carried away by the immensity of the landscape.

A more intimate environment

During these months, the Patagonia Camp experience becomes even more special. The smaller number of guests allows for a quieter atmosphere and close attention, ideal for those seeking to reconnect with themselves and with nature in a serene and welcoming environment.

Come in spring and discover Patagonia in its most serene moment

This season is ideal for those seeking a deeper connection with nature, away from the crowds and in an environment that invites contemplation, calm and wonder.

You are awakened by the soft rustling of the forest. Outside, the wind slips through the coigües and lenga trees, and the Toro Lake begins to reflect the first shades of dawn. From bed, covered with a blanket, you watch the sky turn pink through the central dome of your yurt.

In the distance, the Paine Massif begins to loom into sharp relief. It is still early, but you know there is no rush. You are in Patagonia, surrounded by silence, nature and that feeling of being in exactly the right place.

Sleeping in a yurt at Patagonia Camp is an experience that is hard to compare. Each of the 23 yurts was designed to offer comfort, privacy and connection with the environment, without losing sight of the principles of sustainability that guide everything we do.

What is the origin of yurts?

Originally from Central Asia, yurts – or gers, as they are called in Mongolia – are circular structures that have been used by nomadic people for more than two thousand years. Their shape follows both practical and symbolic logic: they resist wind, retain heat, and their open, cornerless interior invites sharing.

At their center, the upper circle that once served as a smoke outlet now becomes a window to the sky. At Patagonia Camp, we have adapted this ancestral construction to the Patagonian landscape, fusing tradition and modernity.

Five types of yurts, an experience for every traveler. All yurts are connected by wooden walkways and strategically located among native trees, allowing you to enjoy the views. Inside, each yurt has central heating, private bathroom, ecological amenities, local identity-decoration and a terrace where you can relax listening to nature.

vista-yurts

These are the five categories of yurts:

  • Yurt Deluxe
Ideal for those seeking relaxation and connection with nature. It has 20 m², double or twin beds, full bathroom and a cozy terrace. Native forest views.
  • Yurt Deluxe with jacuzzi
The same comfort of the Yurt Deluxe, but with the extra of a private jacuzzi on the terrace. Perfect to soak in the sunset while the sky is tinged with colors. Native forest and Paine Massif views.
  • Lakefront Yurt
Similar to the Deluxe with Jacuzzi, but located right in front of the lake. Here, the view is everything.
  • Yurt Suite

With 40 m², this yurt offers more space and privacy. It includes a separate living room, a full bathroom, and a terrace with a hot tub overlooking Lake Toro and the Paine Massif.

  • Family Yurt

Designed for families or small groups. It features two connected bedrooms, a shared bathroom, and a terrace with a hot tub for everyone to enjoy together. Views of the forest.

An experience that goes beyond lodging

Sleeping in a yurt is not only resting: it is listening to the rain without getting wet, seeing the stars without getting out of bed, and feeling that you are part of the landscape without leaving a trace. Everything is designed to take care of the environment and offer you a comfortable stay: from the elevated paths that protect the vegetation to the use of clean energy and sustainable waste management.

At Patagonia Camp, each yurt is a refuge. A circular pause in the middle of the landscape, where architecture is at the service of the environment and the traveler’s wellbeing. Whether you are traveling alone, as a couple or as a family, there is a yurt waiting for you to spend an unforgettable night under the stars.
