Nature & Territory

Patagonia Camp is set in one of the world’s most extraordinary natural environments, surrounded by more than 34,000 hectares of native forest and just a few kilometers from Torres del Paine National Park.

From the beginning, we understood that operating in a place like this comes with a special responsibility. Our goal goes beyond reducing our impact: we seek to live consciously and respectfully within the ecosystem, allowing our guests to experience Patagonia in a deep and authentic way. At Patagonia Camp, nature is not the backdrop to the experience. It is where the experience begins.

DESIGNED TO BLEND INTO THE LANDSCAPE WITH MINIMAL IMPACT

Architecture Rooted in Patagonia

Our yurts and common areas are built on raised platforms and connected by wooden walkways, helping preserve the soil and vegetation.

Inspired by the nomadic dwellings of Central Asia, their circular design and white roofs maximize natural light and thermal efficiency, while the fabric structure maintains a close connection with the surroundings. Inside, guests can hear the rain, wind, and birds, and look up at the Patagonian sky through the central skylight.

The interiors feature pieces by local artisans, recycled materials, and elements that reflect the region’s cultural identity.

Water as Part of the Natural Balance

At Patagonia Camp, we see water as an essential resource that requires special care. We encourage mindful use among our team and guests, while implementing efficiency and reuse practices throughout our operations.

Our two biological treatment plants use natural processes with bacteria and peat to break down organic matter and return treated water to the environment without harsh chemicals. To help protect this delicate balance, we use only biodegradable products.

Restoring Balance

Beyond protecting the Camp’s immediate surroundings, we continually work to reduce our environmental impact through:

  • Biodegradable products for cleaning and operations
  • Progressive reduction of single-use plastics
  • Responsible waste management and recycling
  • Ongoing monitoring of water and energy use

These actions are part of our commitment to a tourism model that not only protects nature, but contributes to its regeneration.

We believe protecting nature begins with understanding it.

Our initiatives include:

  • Self-guided Forest Therapy with an immersive audio experience
  • More than 22 km of trails through native forest
  • Interpretive signage on local flora, fauna, and history

Our goal is for every guest to not only experience Patagonia, but to understand it and become an ambassador for its protection.

TOWARDS OUR GOAL

Carbon Neutrality

We continue to measure and manage our carbon footprint, with clear goals towards carbon neutrality.

  • Direct and indirect emissions measurement certified by Huella Chile since 2024.
  • Logistics optimization.
  • Alternative energy solutions to reduce fossil fuel use, including solar and hydroelectric projects.
  • Our 4R philosophy: Respect, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
  • Participation in electromobility projects.
  • Local-impact offsetting as part of our goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2026.
